Francesco Stelitano is a freelance phtographer born in Sarzana, Italy, in 1982. While studying multimedia arts at Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara he came across the works of Walker Evans and Robert Frank and since then photography its his main interest. In 2009 he accomplish a MA in Documentary Photography with distinction at the London College of Communication. His projects of social landscapes focus mainly on issue related to economic power. His works as been exhibited in United Kingdom, France, Italy and New York and published in The Times, Internazionale, Wired, GQ, D la Repubblica delle Donne, Le Temps and Twill among others.
In 2013 He co-founded Endless Delight Publishing, an indipendent publishing house devoted to the production of small photo books in limited editions.

He has a passion for the Ramones.

Selected biography

May 2013. Invisible City was exhibited in the Off circuit of Fotografia Europea in Reggio Emilia.

September 2012. Invisible City was exhibited at the SIFest Off.

October 2011. Sao Paulo In Plain Sight was exhibited in a group show called Lab4Arts in Milan.

June 2011. Represented by photo agency LUZ.

May 2011. Group exhibition at the gallery space of Saatchi&Saatchi London office.

April 2011. One print from Munbaikar was exhibited and auctioned in New York among prints of promiments artist such as Susan Meiselas, Steve McCurry and Ed Kashi for a Photography Benefit Auction organized by the n.g.o. PROOF: media for social justice.

February 2011. Shortlisted for the Prix Any – Prix Palace, annual award of the Association Nationale des Iconographes.

October 2010. His project about the trendy neighborhood of Soho in London is exhibited in a group show called Overexposed City during the festival Photomonth in London, UK.

September 2010. Nominated for the PRIX ANI – PIX PALACE, annual award of the Association Nationale des Iconographes and consequencially Mumbaikar was exhibited at the Palais des Congress in Perpignan during Visa Pour L’ Image.

July 2010. Mumbaikar: notes from an economic power is nominated for the illustrious PRIX PICTET.

April 2010. Group exhibition at Surface Gallery in Nottingham, UK.

February 2010., the online version of the eminent 8 Magazine published Mumbaikar:notes from an economic power.

January 2010. 3rd prize of the competition DOCUMENT organized by the n.g.o. WAR ON WANT. Group Exhibition at Host Gallery, London.

Decenber 2009. Achieves the MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography with Distinction from the London College of Communication, University of the Arts of London, UK.

January 2009. Move to London to attend the MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication.

March 2007. Achieves the BA in Multimedia Arts from the Accademy of Fine Arts of Carrara, Italy.

January 2006. Start working as a studio and still life photographer.
